Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai introduced 'The Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026' in the Rajya Sabha. The bill seeks to grant 'Vande Mataram' equal statutory protection as the national anthem, flag, and Constitution. Intentionally preventing or disturbing its singing will become a criminal offence punishable by up to three years in prison, a fine, or both, amid Opposition concerns over free speech.

गुजरात में लगातार हो रही भारी बारिश कई जिले बाढ़ की चपेट में हैं। नदियां उफान पर हैं और सड़कें पानी में डूब चुकी हैं। अब तक 40,500 से ज्यादा लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुंचाया गया है। बारिश से जुड़े हादसों में पांच लोगों की मौत भी हुई है। अहमदाबाद में 24 और 25 जुलाई को सभी स्कूल, कॉलेज और आंगनवाड़ी केंद्र बंद रहेंगे। यूपी में 15 दिनों से लगातार हो रही बारिश से हालात बिगड़ने लगे हैं। गंगा-यमुना समेत 10 से ज्यादा नदियां उफान पर हैं। 4 नदियां खतरे के निशान से ऊपर बह रही हैं। मौसम विभाग ने शनिवार को 30 जिलों में बारिश का अलर्ट जारी किया है।
